Psalm 99
(Psa 99:2) The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. (Psa 99:3) Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. This is more scripture to remind us of the greatness of God. God should never be taken lightly. He is aware of everything that goes on in the earth. He sees all good and all evil. He is a just and holy God who will surely bring vengeance upon those who do evil and do not repent. In the last days there will be an attitude of ignoring God and a refusal to recognize God's right to bring mankind to repentance. Most will be doing what is right in their own eyes and think that either God does not exist or is not aware of their ways. Secular humanism is the god of many in the world. This is a god that shows man as the center and man as the one who rules. This attitude is that we have the education and power to make the rules devoid of any of God's influence. If one reads history though we see that no nation exists very long without the true God. If they do at all there will be oppression, fear, unfair judgment, lack of compassion and cruelty. Religious nations without the truth become even more cruel, harsh and are even worse than the secular ones that deny God. Both are evil, cruel and will face God's wrath. (Psa 99:4) The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob. Here is an example of good government with the fear of God. Good kings love fair judgment. We need to have judgment because so many would run away with evil ways if they were not restrained in some way. Equity is impartial judgment showing equal judgment to all no matter what race, occupation or whether they are rich or poor. Righteousness is purity of heart, living a life in the fear of God and living according to His word. This is the only government that will bring peace. So far mankind has failed in obtaining a righteous government. The United States has been close at times but we tend to leave God out of the school systems and the kids need to learn of God in a way that causes them to respect God but not in a way that would cause them to prefer one denomination over another. To leave God out entirely is a mistake. We have substituted the false teaching of evolution. Without the fear of God, kids will tend to do what is right in their own eyes and rebel against society. We are fast producing a generation that knows not God and it will be disastrous. There will first come chaos and then we will want a leader to bring order. That leader would either be a religious leader that is cruel or a secular leader that is a dictator. Either way we will lose our freedom. The next leader just may be the anti-christ himself. How many now desire a leader that promises health care, high paying jobs and a good life? Would be rulers will promise anything to get their power. (Psa 99:5) Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. Our hope and expectation must be in the Lord our God only. No other one will help in times of need. (Psa 99:6) Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.God will not refuse to answer one that believes in Him unless they are full of sin and have not repented or turned to Him for forgiveness and a desire to change. Psa 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:(Psa 99:7) He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.(Psa 99:8) Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions. (Psa 99:9) Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy. The ones that win in the end are those that recognize the authority of God and His word. The ones who will suffer judgment are those that ignore or refuse to repent and change. Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.Rev 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, Rev 16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. Let us not be part of the generation that has the attitude that they need no repentance. We need God more now than in the days of little education. The more educated we become the less dependant we are on God. That is a dangerous place to be in. Having confidence in men or women will doom us to failure. God sent us a way to be changed and made righteous. That way is through faith in Jesus Christ. ©2008 Old Paths Lighthouse |
